The coastal Plains of India:-

India’s land border is 15200 kilometers and the aquatic limit is 6100 Km.If they include the shore of the islands The total aquifer is 7516. Thus the total limit is 22,716 kilometre. There are nine such states of India Gujarat ,Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, kerala, Tamil Nadu ,Andhra Pradesh ,Odisha and  West Bengal .Which are bordered by the coast .Of these the highest maritime boundary is Gujarat 1214 kilometre and the lowest is Goa 121 kilometre.

☆ Total aquifer range – 7516 Km       (including the island)

☆ Total range = 15200+7516

                            = 22716 Km.

Coastal plains:-

There are two narrow coastal plains to the east and west of the peninsula plateau. This coastal plains extends along the shores of the Arabian Sea in the West and the Bay of Bengal in the East which are called West Coastal plain and East coastal plain respectively. These coastal plains extends from the state of Gujarat to West Bengal. Which are divided into various coasts.

1. Western coastal plains

2. Eastern coastal plains

Western Coastal Plain –

It extends from gujarat to kanyakumari. The Valley adjoining the western coastal plain is called the western Valley. Here the rivers Narmada, tapti, saravati, mandvi etc form the estuaries.The reason for this is the rapid flow of rivers.

These shores are divided into four parts:-

●  Gujarat to Mumbai – Kadhiyavadh          

●  Mumbai to Goa – Konkadh Coast

● Goa to Karnataka – Kannadh Coast

● Karanataka to Kanyakumari –Malabar        

East coastal plain:-

It extend from kanyakumari to West Bengal. The Valley adjoining the eastern coastal plain called the eastern Valley. The rivers  flowing here form Delta’s. The reason for this is the slow flow of rivers.

East coast:-

• Tamilnadu – Koromandal Coast

• Aandhra Pradesh – Royal Coast

• Odhisa – Kaling and Utkal Coast

 भारत की भूमि सीमा 15200 किलोमीटर है और जलीय सीमा 6100 है। यदि  द्वीपों के तट को शामिल करते हैं तो कुल जलीय  सीमा  7516 है। इस प्रकार कुल सीमा 22,716 किलोमीटर है।  भारत के नौ ऐसे राज्य हैं (गुजरात, महाराष्ट्र, गोवा, कर्नाटक, केरल, तमिलनाडु, आंध्र प्रदेश, ओडिशा और पश्चिम बंगाल) जो कि तट से लगे हुए हैं।  इनमे सबसे अधिक समुद्री सीमा गुजरात 1214 किलोमीटर है और सबसे कम गोवा है।  121 किलोमीटर है।

 तटीय मैदान:-

 प्रायद्वीप पठार के पूर्व और पश्चिम में दो संकीर्ण तटीय मैदान हैं।  यह तटीय मैदान पूर्व में अरब सागर और पूर्व में बंगाल की खाड़ी के तट के साथ-साथ पश्चिम तटीय मैदान और पूर्वी तटीय मैदान कहलाता है।  ये तटीय मैदान गुजरात राज्य से पश्चिम बंगाल तक फैले हुए हैं।  जिन्हें विभिन्न तटों में विभाजित किया गया है।

 1. पश्चिमी तटीय मैदान

 2. पूर्वी तटीय मैदान

 पश्चिमी तटीय मैदान -

 यह गुज़रत से कन्याकुमारी तक फैला हुआ है।  पश्चिमी तटीय मैदान से सटे घाटी को पश्चिमी घाटी कहा जाता है।  यहाँ नर्मदा, ताप्ती, सरवती, मांडवी आदि नदियाँ ज्वर्नद्मुख बनाती हैं। इसका कारण नदियों का तीव्र प्रवाह है।

 इन तटों को चार भागों में बांटा गया है: -

•  गुजरात से मुंबई - कढ़ियावाड़ तट

•  मुंबई से गोवा - कोंकड़ तट

•  गोवा से कर्नाटक - कन्नड़ तट

•  कर्णाटक से कन्याकुमारी - मालाबार तट

 पूर्वी तटीय मैदान: -

 यह कन्याकुमारी से पश्चिम बंगाल तक फैला हुआ है।  पूर्वी तटीय मैदान से सटे घाटी को पूर्वी घाटी कहा जाता है।  यहाँ बहने वाली नदियाँ डेल्टा का निर्माण करती हैं।  इसका कारण नदियों का धीमा प्रवाह है।
